How many times have you heard opposites attract? It is so cliché, but often so true when it comes to relationships and Blake and Jackie’s relationship is no different. Blake is the happy-go-lucky-fly-by-the-seat-of-his-pants kind of guy while Jackie is more serious and thoughtful about planning and preparation. They find common ground in their sarcasm and desire to just have fun!

Jackie says: Blake can always make me laugh, no matter what. He cares about everyone around him, including animals. Blake is an incredibly considerate person, selfless and helpful. Most of this time, he never says no to anyone needing help. He always puts family and friends first, and prioritizes time with me.

Blake says: Jackie is probably one of the smartest people I know and she is an absolute powerhouse! She is an incredibly hard worker and extremely driven. If Jackie can’t do it- nobody can. It’s hard to find someone who embodies all of those qualities mentioned previously, but also possesses a good sense of humor, but she is incredibly humorous, sometimes even without trying (probably because she’s too smart). Her dry sense of humor never ceases to make me laugh. Her careful planning and articulation shows how much she cares for me and others around her.

When Blake finally decided on the perfect ring, he took a personal day from work and went to Columbia, MO to pick it up. He was so nervous about his choice that he turned to friends and family for reassurance on his choice. Once he made it back to Shelbina, Jackie noticed that he was home early from work and seemed extra happy. Blake let the dog out, then told Jackie to get up and look at him. She was in her sweatpants, eating Buffalo chicken dip watching tv. Blake stood Jackie up, got down on one knee and asked Jackie to be his wife!

I am so excited to be photographing their wedding this September. And I REALLY hope there is buffalo chicken dip at the reception-ha!
